Just in the last short while the final build of Windows 7 became available for MSDN Subscribers.  All versions are available fro download and testing.

Most MSDN subscribers are probably using one of the Beta copies already of what promises to be Microsoft’s OS comeback after the muted reception of Vista.

Having tried the RC version, I can say that the Media Center version is already fabulous, though I am looking forward to finding out if the RTM version performs better on my hardware.  Win 7 has had a couple of issues on my Media Center, but has been mostly reliable.

Most blogs and sites are already raving about Windows 7, it addresses most if not all of the Vista complaints, adds new features and of course a new look (a very intelligent new look at that!)

If your one of the lucky ones that have a MSDN account yet have not been tempted to try Win7, now might be a good time to download your copy.

Yoski,

I pre-ordered Windows7 off amazon when they had the big pre-order discounts going. I must say that I did give vista the big side step, it was almost prophetic that it'd be a weighty and clunky operating system. It was like just waiting for Microsoft to deliver what "it thought" end users wanted. It's good to hear a lot of positive press going it's way.

Now hears hoping it'll run as quickly as XPsp3 on 2gb RAM and my trusty Athlong 64X2 5600+. Looking forward to having Directx10 and a new look to Windows.

For me the real test is going to be whether or not it takes the majority of a working day to get it installed and running how I like!

Answer to this one.... No it wont take all day to get it up and running. Its easier al round to configure and use than Vista is. Installing software is a bit easier due to the UAC being less intrusive.

There is less pre-included apps in this one, but you can get these if you need them as live essentails downloads.

Stability wise it seems rock solid.
