The second piece of blogging software that I am trying is Drivel. Compared to Blog Entry Poster this seems a little more featured, able to pick up categories from my website and able to download existing entries for editing purposes. To add to this, Blog Entry Poster did not successfully upload a…

Thanks darkeye. I had seen one before and not the other. Reminded me nicely to try scribefire which other than a timestamp issue is working reasonably well.

Searching for blogging softare

If you can read this then the first of the blogging software contenders is working. The first piece of software that I downloaded was Blog Entry Poster. A very simple looking blogging tool, I fear that this one is not really for me. I think I can see the attraction for some people, Not tools to …

Glad to see you got up and running. I have to agree a bit with the brown, not my favourite I must say.

For your multimedia/audio stuff: You could have a look at "Ubuntu Studio" -> ubuntustudio.org/ which brings a lot of multimedia-software with it. You could easyly install it by opening synaptic, which you find in the systems menu and search for the package "ubuntu-studio".

Or you just download the Live-image and try first...

This Seems Surreal

E-mail Print PDF
Screenshot-Installing_systemRather bizarrely, I am currently blogging whilst installing an operating system on my laptop! I managed to fix up the failed backup of my files and reboot the system using a live disk.  I have run the install software and chose to install to my full disk.  What amazes me is how quick the install is…

Hi Blair,
Now it's getting interesting as I follow your steps. I have followed the same ones in the recent past, and is that Ubuntu I see there? If I, a total amateur got Ubuntu NBR up and running on my 901 and then after three months trial, ditched Xandros and installed it, I should think you must be finding it easy. Anyway, I'm eagerly waiting to see how you get on...

Cheers

Hi and thanks for tuning in.

It has been relatively easy so far, the only real issues have been non linux related.

The gremlins have been busy round here, Other bloggers seem to have had some non linux issues as well that they will no doubt tell you about soon.

Thanks again
Blair

An orange progress-bar - I bet it's Ubuntu. It'd be a good choice.

Hi Blair,

good luck with your project, I think many Linux users are watching its progress.

May I suggest you a nice app for making screenshots for your blog on Ubuntu? Look here: http://shutter-project.org/about/

Much success and have fun with Ubuntu!

So its Ubuntu! Good choice, best community support EVER. Like it was MADE for netbooks - as you can see internet access is preconfigured very well.

Good Luck!
